In an industry long dominated by legacy sanitary pad manufacturers and incremental product tweaks, three engineers from India – Kiriti Bikram Acharjee, Sourav Chakrabarty, and Satyajit Chakraborty – decided to address one of the most persistent, unaddressed problems in personal hygiene: menstrual leakage.

Operating out of Bengaluru, they launched HealthFab and engineered GoPadFree – reusable, leak-proof, BIS certified period underwear. Designed with a multi-layered absorbent structure capable of holding up to 30 ml of flow without needing supplementary pads or tampons, the product set out to replace disposable alternatives entirely.
What started as a lean, science-first R&D initiative in 2020 has rapidly evolved into a category-defining market force.
From Bootstrapped Roots to Shark Tank Backing
HealthFab was built on a foundation of rigorous testing, customer feedback, and focus. After pooling an initial seed capital of ₹15 lakh, the co-founders spent years refining product prototypes to achieve complete leak prevention, antibacterial performance, and a 50-wash durability rating.
The brand’s traction caught national attention on Shark Tank India, securing backing from prominent investors including Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, and Vineeta Singh. The national exposure accelerated the brand’s growth, validating period underwear as a scalable, mainstream consumer health category in India.
Market Leadership and the Move to Multi-Channel Scale
HealthFab’s disciplined focus on product engineering has delivered consistent commercial results:
- #1 Category Ranking: HealthFab holds the top position in the reusable period underwear category on Amazon India.
- 3x Year-on-Year Growth: The business has maintained three-fold annual revenue expansion while scaling its direct-to-consumer (D2C) subscriber base.
- 500,000+ Customers Served: Over half a million women have transitioned to GoPadFree for their menstrual care.
To support its next growth phase, HealthFab secured a ₹20 Crore Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. The fresh capital is earmarked for three primary strategic growth vectors:
- Quick-Commerce & General Trade: Expanding beyond D2C into instant-delivery platforms and physical retail distribution across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.
- Manufacturing Capacity: Scaling up internal production infrastructure to meet surging domestic and export demand.
- Full-Cycle Menstrual Wellness: Broadening the product portfolio from leak-proof apparel into holistic solutions covering energy, sleep, and pain management across the entire menstrual cycle.
The Vision: Redefining Women’s Health Tech
HealthFab’s growth strategy reflects a shift in modern FemTech: moving away from single-product utility toward building an integrated health and wellness ecosystem.
By combining technical performance, sustainable design, and omnichannel distribution, HealthFab is positioning itself to scale its user base from 500,000 to over 5 million women worldwide, setting a new benchmark for Indian consumer health brands on the global stage.
